At Camperdown Nursery, we pride ourselves on being a small, family-like setting where every child is truly known, valued, and supported.
With space for just 24 children at a time, we offer a genuinely personal and caring “home-from-home” environment for children from 2 – 5 years of age. For over 50 years, we’ve been part of the local community, providing high-quality early years education in a calm, welcoming space where children feel safe, happy, and ready to learn.
Our small and nurturing team gets to know each child as an individual, working closely with families to ensure their interests, needs, and development are supported every step of the way. At the heart of our approach is a deep respect for children’s rights, as outlined in the United Nations Convention on the Rights of the Child (UNCRC). We are committed to creating a setting where every child’s voice is heard, their choices are valued, and their well-being is our top priority. We believe children have the right to be safe, to play, to be listened to, and to learn in ways that are meaningful to them — and this ethos is reflected in everything we do.
We are proud to be outdoor-focused, with free-flow access to two fantastic outdoor areas. Children enjoy stimulating play and learning both indoors and outdoors — exploring, discovering, and growing with confidence.
Camperdown Nursery is a wonderful first step before school. We support children in building confidence, independence, and social skills in a gentle, supportive environment — giving them the very best start to their learning journey.
Our highly experienced and deeply committed team is carefully selected for their passion, warmth, and expertise in early years education.
Thanks to our high staff-to-child ratio, each member of our team has the time to build strong, trusting relationships with the children — getting to know them as individuals and supporting their unique interests, needs, and development.
Our nursery is led by a hands-on Manager, who works closely with both children and staff every day. This leadership style ensures that staff receive ongoing support and guidance, and that families feel connected with the whole team.
We actively encourage continuous professional development, with staff regularly taking part in further training to deepen their knowledge and enhance their skills. Every team member is involved in shaping the day-to-day life of the nursery and plays a key role in delivering our shared aims and values.
